Why grass-fed beef?
It’s no secret that burgers, fries, and shakes aren’t exactly health food. Within our niche of a burger place however, our founder Phil Jensen was always committed to giving Burgermaster customers the best value. This meant providing options that were as healthy and high-quality as possible. Grass-feed beef is the perfect answer to wanting a tasty, juicy burger while taking care of our health. It was a natural progression in Burgermaster’s never-ending quest for healthy, quality ingredients.
Grass is what cows are naturally born to eat, and it’s what they’ve eaten for centuries. Grass-fed beef is healthier for our bodies and naturally tastes better as well. The meat is lower in fat and cholesterol while being higher in omega 3 acids and antioxidants. As our owner Alex Jensen says, “We’re returning food back to the way it used to be.” At Burgermaster, we’re taking a classic food that is often processed and bad for our bodies, and replacing the ingredients with quality food that nourishes us. We’re also reducing the impact that our company has on the environment by taking responsibility for how we treat our planet and the animals on it, including the cows at the farms that we source from. That’s why grass-fed beef is so important to us.
what we serve
Our burgers taste good because, well, they genuinely ARE good. They beef is fresh and locally sourced from here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s grass-fed AND grass-finished, which is important to us. It’s also always free of hormones and antibiotics. Having served natural beef for nearly 20 years, we believe our burger patties perhaps best showcase our dedication to quality. In true Burgermaster fashion, our quest for the ideal beef was not carried out lightly.
Founder Phil Jensen began his research on natural beef in the early 2000’s. Over the years, the Burgermaster team worked with several companies to deliver a burger that was on par with the rest of our top-notch menu items. In 2004, the Schenk Packing Company (another local family-owned business) approached Burgermaster with a sample of their grass-fed beef, and it was love at first bite. Upon tasting that first burger, everyone who tied it said “It tastes like steak!” Since then, all locations have happily served Schenk grass-fed beef burgers.
